He is especially valuable against teams that land a lot of debuffs and when used as a leader against characters who counter attack, so get him as fast as possible to take advantage of his Tactical Genius and It’s A Trap special abilities as quickly and often as possible.Īdditional Areas to Focus: While Speed is the main focus, I recommend you do NOT use a set of four Speed mods. Main Focus: Almost every character needs Speed, and Admiral Ackbar is no different. Since Zeta Abilities are always Level 8 abilities, this leaves room with Ackbar for a future Zeta Ability. One notable bit of info on Ackbar is that Rebel Coordination, his leader ability, maxes out at Level 7. His Capital Ship, Home One, adds significant value to the character given it is the most-used of the three Capital Ships we have in the game at this time. I hope this helps you find a mod you like. Both those mods make changes to the AI, replace the XML folder(and in RaW's case: remove the "scripts" folder) whenever you play something else. Make a copy of your XML folder, and replace it whenever you change from Republic at War, or Awakening of the Rebellion, to another mod. But it's a very good mod nonetheless, and seems to be very much a labour of love. It's still very early in developement, and they don't have ground battles nor galactic conquest yet. Is a bonus one, Stargate: Pegasus Chronicles. A problem I never had when playing RaW.ĥ. It has some pretty fun ground combat, but I have to rank it lower because the space combat isn't the best, and it likes to crash a lot when saving. It's based on the show, and is surpizingly different to Republic at War. (Warning though, 2.5 can be tricky to install in English, but overall is fairly polished, ask if you need help 2.6 English Beta, has many improvements, but is very glitchy.)Ĥ. It's very visually good looking, and makes you think more about tactical choices as ships are very expensive, and you really feel it when you lose them. I only recently discovered it, but it quickly became one of my favourites. Personally I find it a bit dull, visually, but if you want some epic space battles, and a unique tech system, I say it's a must.ģ. It's arguably the most balanced, and lore intensive. It feels like it's own expansion, if you try any, try this one.Ģ. Arguably the best, and definitely the most polished.
